Burnitz has a mutual option, he isn't going anywhere.

He has also said he will not play for another team if he got traded. If he did he would retire. So i take it he would just retire if the rockies did not pick it up.

what i would like to see is who is offered a contract first and who isn't. isn't it in the rules of fa that if a team doesn't offer a contract then they are free without compensation?

that being said, i wonder about brad radke from minny? how bout a real good lefty in eric milton?

we do need a rp and i would like to see what pans out there.

how bout matt matheny- c as a back up catcher?

i hope we take a long look at derek lowe.

see if his problems this season were real.

the guy could be a steal to throw in our #4 spot and if he returns to form, would easily be our #1.

I think the Sox should let Maggs and Jose walk. Pick up Carl Pavano, Frank Cattlanotto, and mabey even a Dave burba (having a nice year last I checked). We need 1 more good starting pitcher, some more contact hitters, another solid arm in the bullpen. And for god sakes let willie play everyday. enough of the platoon s***

If you let those two walk, there is no way anyone can replace Maggs numbers on this team. Jose can be replaced.
