September 3, 200421 yr Ok, I was thinking. Here is a format I came up with. I've never paid much attention to how keeper leagues or done, so tell me if this makes sense and we can of course modify it or just scrap it. Each team keeps 7 players. Also, starting this year, each team drafts 5 minor leaguers at the beginning of the season. Those 5 minor leaguers are safe on your roster for hte next 3 years (you don't have to label them keeper players, until the 3 years are up). However, you can't drop/add minor leaguers until the next draft, but you can sign a guy that comes up that was undrafted, but that player isn't eligible to be had for 3 years without actually selecting him as the keeper. The way I see it, this system awards people who can draft a good minor leauger or two cause they can keep them on the roster without worrying too much. I was thinking, regardless, every year, u get to draft 5 new minor leaguers...so at the most, during the three year span, each team will have 15 minor leaguers and then 5 drop off and become eligible players, while another 5 new minor leaguers will join the ranks of each team. How does something like this sound?
September 3, 200421 yr Sounds cool. Hows minor league drafting order figured out....from worst to first in standings?
September 3, 200421 yr maybe that is why jason's team sucked so much so he could hoarde all the good minor guys
September 3, 200421 yr Yah, I am certainly in, especially with the likes of Bonds, Rolen, and Renteria on my team (I think they are ). Just explain the minor league part to me sometime.
September 3, 200421 yr Sounds awesome. Hopefully we can follow through on this. A bunch of friends and I had a league a few years back and were planning on doing a keeper league, but the site turned from free to pay.
September 6, 200421 yr im in and last to first for minor league pick works for me, i think the comissionor can preset rounds and if not you dont draft the protected players(u do you lose them with no value returned), known before season ends a deadline of next week or something.
