Iraq is all better now. We won.

That is such a terrible position for politicians, on one hand you'd do anything to save these peoples lives but on the other hand if you give in to the demands what's to say the same terrorists won't go out and get some other poor sap and use them in the same way to satisfy their demands.

The whole situation is so f***ed!

It'll be interesting to see if it goes ahead then if there are still kidnappings and suicide bombings occuring.

I honestly think it will be both. Elections and terror.

I think it is about time to use a human Lojack on people over there. Let's get a few criminals (child molesters, etc.) and shove one up there ass when they are knocked out, then let let them loose to be kidnapped. Then we track them to the kidnappers and make sure they never kidnap again. But seriously, with the threat of kidnappings over there, why aren't people wearing or having implanted some kind of tracking device. I understand that if it is too obvious that it can just be removed, but there has to be something small enough to conceal, and still work.

While the technology for implanting has been perfected, so to has the technology for a hand held detection scanner. The kidnappers do a quick scan, pop out the knife, a little local surgery, and they are done.

That is assuming they HAVE the scanners. Remember, these are terrorists, not the KGB. Although if word got out that people did have tracking devices implanted in them, I am sure they would/could get them.

Lots of these guys are pretty well financed. Remember Saddam drains Billions (with a B) out of the oil for food and medicince program sponsored by the UN, and Al Qaeda is also working there who has huge money reserves as well. Granted not your joe average guy has money, but the groups sponsoring these guys are loaded.

It isn't that expensive.
