Best ways to get rid of a bad sore throat?

Featured Replies

I got atleast strep (sp?), maybe mono. I just want to get rid of the pain in my throat. I know salt-water gargle, also Benedril Elixer and water gargle. I am on Amoxicillian, anyone have any good home remedies?

Temporarily, I like to use Chloraseptic.

Nyquill is god.

I've gotten Strep quite often and the best way to get rid of it is taking a antibiotic and sleeping.

Some of the remedies work well temporarily, but hell, it hurts so bad and makes you feel so s***ty that you are better off just lying down.

The best antibiotic to take for it, by the way, is Zithromax Z-pack.

And why do I know this? Well because I've already had strep three times this year.

Hope you get to feeling better soon, I definitely feel your pain.

Chloraseptic works wonders. And Aspergum works well for me too(though it tastes like s*** after about a minute or 2).

Otherwise...not much else I can say.

what the hell are you guys a bunch of druggies?

Short term:

Hot lemonade/chocolate works wonders.

12 ounces of warm water. Pour in a bunch of salt. Gargle for 30 seconds, spit, repeat until water is gone. No bacteria will survive.

Adding some lemon juice to that helps get rid of the salt "flavor" after you gargle.

yeah that all works well; the best thing i had i used to eat since it numbed my throat i think it was lydocaine but it wasnt OTC but that s*** worked good so i could actually eat
