Certainly our odds are better than Washington's. As for money, we're about middle of the pack. We'll never win a bidding war with the Yankees or Angels, but that doesn't mean we can't offer significant contracts (Belle's, for example).

I heard that too, and I cringed when he said it. I guess he's just being honest, or blunt, or whatever ... but IMO it was a dumb thing to say. At the very least a poor choice of words.

The Giants were willing to go 3 years,the Sox 2 with an option year.And i'm not sold on Guzman,either.

I am happy that Kenny didn't sign guzman or vizquel which shows me that he has some discipline which I have never seen from him before. I hope he is agressive in his pursuit for RJ and another SP in FA as well as another hitter which i believe he will be.
