Soccer fans hurl racial slurs at players

This is news?

I heard about this as well. Far worse than any racism encountered before according to the athletes. FIFA is really upset at Spain in general right now.

This s*** happens all the time in soccer. The fans are nuts. Earlier this season fans threw s*** on the field during a Champions League game in Rome after the ref gave a Roma player a red card. Something hit the ref and it got really ugly, as always.

Even now, the mayor of Rome wants the Italian League to move a game to the afternoon because the two teams, both from Rome, are bitter rivals (think Cubs Sox with routier fans). He fears there will be more crimes at night than in the daytime.

This is sadly par for the course.

I really like the picture with the caption: Take that...We beat the Armada...

Ahhhhh, the Sun, best paper in the UK...

But I can't say I'm surprised by the fans though....They take fanaticship to a really disturbing level....
