Giambi Used Steroids

Featured Replies

San Francisco chronicle is reporting this. They said he testified on December 11th, 2003 in the Balco Steroid case that he used them in 2003 and that he started using them before that.

Just an FYI and more names I guess are going to be named in the coming days. I guess one of the people at Balco said he was going to name names or something (????).

As it wasn't obvious. Wonder when bonds name is gonna come out?

SURPRISE!!!

Funny how it's a San Francisco paper that broke the story... ;)

Nedrow also asked Giambi about several different-colored pills Anderson provided; they were denoted on calendars as "Y" for yellow, "W" for white and "O" for orange, according to the ballplayer. Giambi testified that he didn't know what the pills were, though he thought the white one might have been Clomid, a female fertility drug that can enhance the effectiveness of testosterone. His use of the drug was reflected on a calendar, the prosecutor said.
OMG Giambi pregnant?

According to my math, 45 to 50 current MLB players are guilty. Two teams worth of muhf***as. I'm assuming that at least 3/4 of them will be guys who are in their 30s.

Contract the twins... Luis Rivas is on tha Juice™

"No, you wouldn't," Giambi said. "You'd put it in your ass."

I love removing the context from quotes.

That's great Cheaty.

ESPN said that now the Yanks are going to try to void the last 4 years of his contract. I guess that is one way to clear payroll.

There's no way they get by the players union or his lawyers, unless they had something written into his contract..

The CBA has no teeth when it comes to steroids, and plenty of teeth when dealing with a players compesation.

The yankees will be paying JG for the foreseeable future.

If it reaches the courts, and they find Giambi fraudulent or something, the MLBPA wouldn't have a whole lot that they could say about it.

Wow imagine that Giambi used roids....I doubt anyone saw that one coming. Wonder how long b4 they finally get Bariod. :D

If Bonds and that other shrinking Violet, Sosa, eventually are forced to admit to taking steroids, what does that do to their HOF eligibilty? If they aren't banned, will anybody vote for them? Will Bonds 72 homers be honored? What about if he hits number 756? This is a nightmare scenario for MLB.

Now this could be really, really interesting.

The thing that was brought up on Mike & Mike is, say Bonds breaks the HR record and it comes out he did in fact use roids. How will it be handled? Will he be booed??

If he used and lied, he belongs on the scrap heap with scumbags like Pete Rose. I hope they ban his ass, seriously.

I doubt it will happen though. How many chances do they give to these bums who are using drugs...Steve Howe anyone?? Darryl Strawberry, Doc Gooden?? And countless others. Heaven forbid though you gamble but drugs are ok. They all deserve to be banned but nope only the gambler.

I know it won't happen. It just pisses me off that sports seem to be the one profession where you can cheat your ass off and get away with it. If this happened in any other profession, they would have been fired long ago.

It certainly is. And the writing is on the wall for Bonds, with Greg Anderson (his personal trainer) being the guy fingered as giving Giambi the drugs, and being identified on a tape as admitting Bonds was using an undetectable performance-enhancer in 2003.

Damn I wish MLB could avoid all of this, but they and MLBPA brought it on themselves by not dealing proactively and aggressively with this 10 years ago. It will be ironic that the big homerun chase years that brought so many people back to baseball and healed some of the lingering 1994 strike anger will probably end up being the biggest scandal in a half-century of baseball.

Didn't Sheffield also say it was Bonds personal trainer who gave him roids? That of course Sheff used "Unknowingly"...yeah right.

In other news, Jose Lima is being sued for giving a woman herpes, also in 2003.

True story.

First roids, now STDs. What's next for this sport we all love?

And who's going to reap the rewards when his hot wife divorces him?

Just when baseball starting making a comeback. MLB has to be sick right now.

Alright....well, this begs the bigger, more important question.

How many of you think Bonds is/has taking/taken steroids and if so, would you like to see him ineligible for Cooperstown?

I say: Barry was certainly on steroids, for how long I am unsure of, and that he will be put in the Hall, but with an *
