December 9, 200421 yr Anyone hearing the Cubs are in talks with Boras about Maggs for 1 year?? He will supposedly either replace Sammy, if they can unload him on the Mets or he will play left to replace Alou. All the Cubs fans in my office are all geeked up about it.
December 9, 200421 yr I haven’t heard anyone in the Cubs organization having any interest in Maggs though they may have thought about getting him. I can tell you this. If I see Magglio in the Chicago Cubs starting lineup for next season than I will puke my guts out. He’s a great player but I just don’t want to see the “Oooh ehhh ohhhh” chant in the Urinal.

December 10, 200421 yr Author The plot thickens, Bruce Levine said last night that 'after a Jan. open workout, don't be surprised to see Maggs playing left field for the Cubs'. The Cubs are rumored to be upping their payrioll to over 100 mil, so I belive there would be room for Maggs for a year even if they get stuck with Sammy. Maggs said going to the Cubs would be 'really, really, nice.'
