they should move the fences back a good 20-25 ft. to let in more room for triples and doubles therefore we could base the park around the idea of speed and defense

im tired of seeing homers fly out so much and I think it would be fun to see some more hustling in at third base.

there's nowhere for the fences to go.

You're right.

too bad there is no more room, I would rather have the fences back and have less seats in LF, CF, and RF.

move home plate back.

I would loev to see the fences moved back. I loved it when Durham would hit a ball down the line and walk into 3rd with a triple. But as you said, there is no place for them to move back. Maybe in center, bu that is about it.

move home plate back.

Then you have to reconfigure the foul lines. Moving the plate back would cause the foul lines to move allong the walls and be more like 300ft down the lines. Not to mention there would be almost NO foul territory.

move home plate back.

This is probably the way to go.

I wouldn't want it to be like Comerica, but I do think that with the way our team is constructed, even 5-10 feet might make a difference.

couldnt they just move the seats back is room to contiune the slop the bleachers are on to move it back is it even possible to do that?

dude! Is that even English? :lolhitting

I am sorry for my bad Photoshoping. But as you can see, If you move homeplate back without redoing the foul lines, the Foul poles would be about 270 ft from home plate. Yes this is nice, but that is only moving homeplate back 5-10. Is it really worth the extra 5 ft in the outfield?

I say keep the fences as is, it helps keep the balance of power and smallball in the lineup.

:dips*** :lolhitting :o Translate that please.

basically what i was trying to say was move the back wall of the stadium back if u want to move the fences back. then u can have the same set up but the fences are farther.

sorry for not talking english

are you talking about moving the entire side of the stadium? i'm confused. if so, that would mean moving back the bleachers, scoreboard, concourse, etc.; a multi-million dollar project.

Multi-million is probably an understatement. It might be cheaper to tear it all down and re-build it.

I haven't read the thread yet (isn't ignorance supposed to be bliss?), but I would like them to move back in theory but I hope they don't. That makes little sense, but my reason is that we already have gotten rid of so many seats and with the addition in left, we really cannot. Plus, I think the whole bullpen in left field idea has been a huge success for the fans.

move home plate back.

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner.:)
