I hated looking for a job this time last year. I applied so many places and i nothing happened and i was so frustrated. Then my mom told me to go apply at the grocery store where i work now, but i didnt even want to because i had it in my head i wasnt gunna get a job anywhere, then a few days later i reluctantly went and they called me back 2 days later to get an interview, which really was ok you are starting thursday if you still want the job.

 

It turned out i picked the perfect time to go because someone got fired the day before i applied.

One area you should all check for part time summer help are smaller businesses. You will probably have a better chance to learn something and the pay might be about the same. Think of something you would be interested in, search through the phone book, and call the owner. Tell him you search for someone doing XYZ, it sounded interesting, and you would like a job for the summer.

sounds liek how i got my first job soph year of high school. I spent the entire summer looking and got nothing back. THen my mom said why not apply at the grocery store, i did....and got hired on the spot because they lost someone that day.

But persuasion is a better novel anyway, I don't understand this obsession with P & P, I like Jane Austen more than most, but it's too much....

Pride has been on so many mandatory reading lists, there is a built in familiarity with the work that I guess attracts movie producers.

 

I think that certain books have a specific time and place to be made. The Lord of the Rings is the best example I can think of. Earlier and the movie technology would not have done the book justice.
