AddisonStSox Posted January 11, 2005 Share Posted January 11, 2005 Well, with Cairo signing with the Mets, no action on the Alex Cora front, and talks with Iguchi coming to a standstill, should Kenny look into Rob Mackowiak? That's right...he's still available. Yes, the same Mackowiak that killed the Northsiders during that fateful double-header. Mackowiak, an Oak Lawn native, has become one of the best bench players in the game. Rob, a third baseman by trade, can play 3B, 2B, OF, and an emergency 1B. Often hitting clean-up in the Pirates' dilapidated batting order, Rob can rake. My question: should Kenny take a look at the life-long Sox fan and consider inking him to a multi-year deal? In my opinion, Mackowiak could not only contribute to the 2005 Sox, but also the 2006 Sox and beyond.
