The Win-Share report gave me this idea. Basically the most important measure for any player to a team is R & RBI. In terms of hitting a player contributes the most when he generates a R or an RBI. In terms of pitching a player contributes the most when he gives up the least amount of R.

 

So let's look at 2005 in comparison to 2003,2004. I'm using Thomas 2003 #'s for 2005.

What I'm going to use for evaluation. The team that has the better

R or RBI game average will be considered the most productive offense.

The team that has the lower R given up avg will be considered the more productive defense. Then it's a judgement call as to which will weigh more in 2005.

Way I see it that the numbers of any offense coming into cell will be good. Outside the cell im not worried about pitchers and hitters at least agasint our divison and 3 teams in the east. My objectives for this team should go like this.

 

1.) Have good margin agasint our divison.

2.) Learn how to win on west coast.

3.) Win divison

I'm going to say 2003 simply because that team was very very talented. It had Buehrle, Colon, a good Loaiza, Garland, an All-Star Carl Everett, Frank the Tank, Carlos Lee, hell it was loaded. Our bullpen was loaded too. Our reserves were pretty good too. Anytime you hear someone from the Yankees saying, "Last year, the only team we feared playing if they made the playoffs were the White Sox because they were so talented and stacked," you've done something good.

I still think we need someone to either backup or start in harris place, but thats just me

Idk really, I guess I'm leaning towards the 2003 team because they shoulda won but did pull through. Talent wise I'd say 2003 for sure, heart wise I'm guessing 2005.

The 2003 team had more talent but this is the better team.
