I just don't think Urbina is worth the price.  He is going to make $4 million in 2005 and seems to only pitch well in the N.L.  I don't see how we can add that payroll.  Although, I would have no problem dumping Willie for him.

 

Yeah, we as fans don't think we have the payroll for it, but if KW/JR did trade Willie for Urbina then we have the payroll space. I don't think we should be talking about payroll anymore, as we filled all of our needs and are just looking for ways to further improve. Hey, if JR is willing to spend it, let him!

Still, the Cubs' bullpen is very weak and I don't think they could afford to trade Farnsworth anyways. I'm sure there is a team out there that would want Willie though.

I'm just saying. It seems the majority, which I am one, am satisfied with him on the bench. When you compare him to other bench players around the league, can't you agree that he'd be one of the best? I want to see Willie in a Sox uni next year.

If we are gonna get a pen arm in return for Willie we are gonna need to find a team that has a pretty deep pen or a dier need for a 2B. The Cubs will not trade Farnsworth for him. Why would they? I personally would love him here, but it would take more than Willie to get him. I like the Cards idea as they always have pretty good young arms over there.

I certainly think it would be foolish to trade Willie too soon. In case Iguchi doesn't work out, its always good to have a back up who can play defense.

I really think the Sox are so disenfrachised with Harris that he'll be gone before ST. The Cubs are also unhappy with the Farns ... so that may be doable. (nod to Steff) ..... They'd have to negotiate a way to even it out ... but it may be a case to where both teams take a chance that "a fresh start" helps both players.

Not to speak for Yas but I think he's merely suggesting it's possible, seeing as both teams seem to be really frustrated with their respective players.

 

Cubs have a few young guys who might fill bullpen spots, although I agree with you their bullpen is of concern to them. But they are definitely frustrated with Farnsworth.

 

As for their possible interest in Harris ... personally, I don't see a fit. If Walker were righthanded, maybe.

He had a 100 mph fastball and was pretty good with it. I doubt he throws 100 anymore. Also, does Jenks even throw 100 anymore? I thought I read that he was 95-96 right now....Maybe not.
