Sox had him in ST last year I believe...I don't think he impressed anyone with his pitching...

White Sox reassigned RHP Francisco Campos to minor-league camp.

Campos gave up five runs in 1 2/3 innings during his two outings in 'A' games. The White Sox are expect him to loan him back to the Mexican League, as he'd prefer to pitch there than in the minors.

pretty good game for mexico in the caribian series

He pitched last spring. I saw him pitch a game and he was nothing but god awful. I would never ever want to see the guy pitch another game with the Sox. Prior to that performance I saw Ozzie had said some good things about him but he was done after the outing I was out.

Horrible fastball and throws absolutely nothing but junk. When I say horrible I don't refer to the velocity, but more the lack of movement mixed with terrible velocity and well everything else he threw happened to roll and get crushed.

Wow! I've never seen you so down on a guy, he must have really stunk it up. Could the infamous dry air in Arizona have done him in? Another junker, Shingo Takatsu, looked pretty bad there too.

I don't think Francisco Campos is in any plans -- present or future -- for the White Sox organization. He'll be 33 this summer and thus far, he has compiled 7 solid full seasons in the Mexican League (1995-2001) and three mediocre partial seasons of AAA ball (2002-2004). I am unclear as to why he only has 17 starts in 3 minor league seasons, but he has been nothing spectacular in his minor league career (9-7, 4.84 ERA 93IP, 18BB/58K)

I agree. This thread already has, now, 13 posts. Kind see why it's getting this much attention.

Trust me, I haven't seen a worse performance minus Paniago flicking up the fans or the umpire (I forget what exactly he did). In Takatsu's case, I remember seeing him pitch and made mention that his changeup was unbelievable. The only thing was when I saw him down in Arizona his control was mega off.

In Campos case, it was all awful and I'm not usually an overly harsh guy cause I think anyone that makes it to this stage has some positives, the big question is whether they can mix there pitches and throws strikes (not just strike strikes, but actually hit the targets).
