February 14, 200521 yr I will not going into bash hockey mode, but this is bad news for that league. Hopefully they'll be back next season, but it seems like their negotiations went nowhere at all, which is not good news.
February 14, 200521 yr Fast forward to next winter, and we'll be hoping for another deal to pull off a half a season. This f***ing blows
February 14, 200521 yr While I knew it was coming, it still sucks. It pretty much writes the good bye letter for my favorite team. I retired my Hurricanes (okay, it is really Brian's but he gave it to me lol) hat about a week ago and will wear my Patriots hat (okay, it's his too, but since has a bunch of these, he let me have this one) until I can find a Cingular/Jeff Burton hat or Sox hat that I like.
February 14, 200521 yr I'm obviously not the biggest hockey guy, but are the owners and everyone still going to continue to try to hammer out kind of deal tomorrow, etc? Like I said, I'm not the biggest hockey fan; I was a casual Komets fan back home, but it's weird not seeing hockey highlights anymore.
February 14, 200521 yr I'm sure that this will kick the negotiations into high gear, to prevent this from happening again next year.... Congratulations to the NHL and NHLPA for being the first league/labor union to figure out a way to piss away an entire scheduled season and playoffs. Tell them what they've won, Johnny Olson..... "well, Bob, they've won COMPLETE IRRELEVANCE!! Thaaaaaaat's riiiiiiight, NHL owners and players, you no longer mean ANYTHING to ANYONE!!!!!!! As a bonus prize, we've got EXTINCTION for 6 to 10 NHL franchises, which also means 120 to 200 pink slips for NHL Players Union Members!!!!!!" :puke and :fyou to both sides of this mess....
February 14, 200521 yr I'm no hockey fan but this is sad. I hope they'll get it worked out for next year.
