April 9, 200323 yr I smell a big inning here, capped off with a homer by Crede or Lee. Let's hope the dreaded leadoff walk comes around to score.
April 9, 200323 yr ....looks to me like CLee is pulling all those outside pitches into ground balls or weak flies instead of trying to take it to right....he's gotta start to get his s*** together..... ...Garland better settle down and keep those curve balls down or we are in for a long night and he will be looking for an early shower.... Lee is flying open. What is going on with Garland. How does his stuff look? Is he mixing speeds or is pretty much everything hitting the heart of the plate. Last year I thought Garland was nothing (Baggs and I were about the only ones to agree) and then this year I thought he had turned the corner. Only two starts though and he still has a long way to go so he can redeem himself in this one. He's mixing it up pretty good but he's getting behind most of the hitters and he's leaving his curve up in the zone....he's also being affected by a pretty tight zone by the ump (which appears to be the case with Anderson as well)...he's fastball is peaking at 90 which is about his limit, but he's not throwing it very often and its not moving as well as I've seen it in the past....and yes, he appears to be the WEAKEST LINK in the rotation......
April 9, 200323 yr By the way, I'm not ripping Jon. I think he's going to do very good this year. Baggs has a great point too that he will regress a bit potentially, but this is a kid that was filthy down the stretch last year and he is still just a kid. Come on Jon, get into a groove.
April 9, 200323 yr Its time for the middle guys in the lineup to do something. its been time for awhile now!!!
April 9, 200323 yr Garland started out slowly last year too. Something like an 8.00 ERA in April....or something very high....atleast in the 6.00s. I think Marte was the one with an ERA of 8.00 in April.

April 9, 200323 yr come on, gotta give Bradley a little credit there...he basically had a running start on that throw to the plate

April 9, 200323 yr i wonder how rowand would do in the lead off spot ???...could he learn to take a walk???...if jimenez cant run any faster than that why not stick the big hurt in the leadoff spot???..atleast our leadoff man would carry a 500 on base pct
