  1. QUOTE(drowninginflame @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 03:11 AM) white sox = respeck knuckles Hey, don't post too often (perhaps I should!) but I just wanted to pay homage to the respeck knuckles...Stormy and Dr. Quinn would be proud! But as long as that magic number keeps fallin, it'll be a sweet ride to october.
  2. Hey guys, long time lurker here. Don't post that often, but this is a pretty significant trade so I felt like I should toss my 2 cents in there. I'm looking at this trade with "guarded optimism". Carlos Lee, god I am gonna miss this kid (there goes that Ozziespeak!) I can only wish him the best in Brewaukee. I take solace in the fact that the Cubs have to deal with him 16 times a year! But I just gotta give him his props for improving his defense this year and being a consistent force in the lineup with all the injuries we suffered in 2004. Not gonna cry over losing him though, that's how baseball goes. Now what we got for him, Podsednik from what I've heard got the speed that Ozzie is looking for, he's a lead off batter, and left handed (i believe?) Yeah, he won't hit 30 homers and knock in 80+ rbi's (unless he calls up Giambi) but jeezus 70 stolen bases! Carlos won't get that in 6, 7 seasons. Obviously I don't follow the Brewers, but evidently Vizcaino will be a good addition to the bullpen and whoever the PTBNL is (a major player i've heard) I can't say we didn't at least break even in the overall scope of the deal. Wow, first post in god knows how long and I feel like I just babbled on... But it's good to hear you guys discuss and get pissed off at each other, just shows how much passion we have for this ulcer-inducing team! (p.s. I'll be turnin 21 by the time Soxfest rolls around, am looking to finally hit up the bar afterwards and meeting some of the players up close! )
  3. Hey, I dun post here too much, but I had to nitpick here (hope this doesn't destroy my "street cred" ) I believe that the opening series with the Royals is only a two game series, our third game will be against the Yanks and whoever they start will be a righty for sure. I still hope that we can bust on Sox killer Brian Anderson opening day. What a tone setter that would be! BTW, pray for my Illini tomorrow!
  4. Stuart "Booyah" Scott jokingly accused the fan of being from the south side! Well tonight, he's an honorary Sox fan in my eyes!
  5. Not anymore, Soriano leads off 4th with a single
  6. come on, gotta give Bradley a little credit there...he basically had a running start on that throw to the plate
  7. Man, we gotta get our boy Bartolo a win!
  8. ACK! Jose musta thought there was 2 outs on the play...guess that cold gave him a brain cramp
  9. please please please let this turn out right! Wow, just noticed these picks are eerily similar to Cali's...but i swear this came all out of my head
  10. Wow, guess Koch really earned that Rolaids Relief Pitcher award! I think this was the second shutout for Sox pitching this spring (first against San Diego, I think).
  11. In the third post, is that a newJumbotron behind left field?

Hey, anything better than 4-12 would be great for the Bears...don't know how we're gonna make up for losin Colvin. NFL's salary cap is cruel man
  13. Nice to have a quick start, Homers by Graffanino and Miles...but also look at the mistakes the Padres are making. The pitcher hardly throws first pitch strikes, couple of walks, defense has made a couple of errors, all things we are looking for the Sox to improve at. Let's hope the team is taking notes on what NOT to do. But to end things on a positive note, Great Start!!! WOW, Paul Konerko just hit a 2 run homer! the Offense has woken up!
