Owens and Young also invited...

New additions: Minor league outfielders Chris Young and Jerry Owens both were added to the Spring Training roster Monday. Owens was acquired from Washington in the trade for Alex Escobar just three days before pitchers and catchers reported, while Young hit .262 with 24 home runs and 56 RBIs for Class A Kannapolis in 2004. Young led the Intimidators in games (135), triples (five), home runs, stolen bases (31), runs scored (83), total bases (235), walks (66) and strikeouts (145).

Also, Soxtalk poster Baj gets a mention....

International affairs: The White Sox have nine different countries represented during Spring Training, if you count coaches and the training staff. But Guillen fully realized the United Nations' theme of his team during a pitching workout Monday morning.

"That's a funny thing. I have a group that only has one guy who speaks straight English. That's (Jeff) Bajenaru," said Guillen with a laugh. "Besides that, we've got six Latin guys and Shingo in the same pitching group.

"When I go through it, I feel like I want to speak Spanish. All of a sudden (Bajenaru) was there, and it made it a little uncomfortable."

Guillen ultimately had to give instructions to Takatsu's translator, repeat them in Spanish and then go talk to Bajenaru individually.

"It's like three different languages in one second," Guillen said. "That's why I try to avoid going to that group.

"We've got Koreans, Dominicans, Venezuelans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, Japanese people and a Venezuelan manager. It's kind of a crazy team."

Glad to see Oz isn't calling him Benji anymore.

We're a mutt team!

I'm glad the way baseball has evolved into different races, I think its breaking the age old racial barrier.

And you know, its hysterical that Ozzie is so silly with his voice.

So I guess that means Buerhle, Garland, Hermanson, etc. all understand Spanish?
