That guy was hysterical! RIP Dave!

never heard of him...

rip...:pray

Some of my favorite skits of his were his Pope jokes. One with the Pope water skiing and then the other where they were carrying the Pope around and they needed the "spare" and out comes a little guy from the "trunk" area of the chair.

I'm hoping to hear of a coffin race on the way to the cemetery! LOL!!!

I'm so missing that show.

And he never revealed what happened to the missing half finger...

My mom said she read somewhere when he was a kid it was blown off from a bomb or something like that.

One of his on going jokes was that when he was a kid and they played cops and robbers, he was always the robber with the sawed off shotgun (or something like that is how the joke went).

s***, that is bad news.

I was a big fan of Dave Allen At Large.

Used to watch him on Channel 11, Sunday nights if I remember correctly.

RIP Dave.

Sunday nights, 10:30. Just after Monty Python and just before Dr. Who. That line-up was the only great thing on TV on Sundays, and it was what I looked forward to most next to Creature Features and Son Of Svenghoolie.

Those were special times, weren't they? I was always wiped out going to school the next morning though! LOL! But it was always sooooo worth it. It didn't help that the good Doctor was a looooooooonnnnnnnggggggg show, and sometimes they would run a couple episodes together.

Never got into Dr. Who.

Right to sleep after Dave.

That hour of TV was just about the only thing my brother and I ever had in common. I was into sports, music and drawing and he was into science fiction, fishing and computers. Python and Dave were our only shared interests.

Yeah, he watched it religiously and he kept trying to convince me to watch it too, but I just have never had any interest whatsoever in sci-fi at all.
