He actually has gotten into quite a few games this spring. I believe it is..... but he had 21 doubles in short season Bristol and Grat Falls the year before. Thirteen in only 55 games his first year. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he will somehow find his way into the Birmingham outfield in 2 weeks. Not holding my breath, but apparently he is still playing with the AA club in ST and hasn't been "sent down" to the Winston club yet. How nice would a Sweeney, Young and Owens OF be to start the year in Bham?

If so, that sounds good to me. I take it he just has a big learning curve ahead of him. Maybe like a Beltre who took a long time to break through?

He's got a good smooth swing with lots of bat speed and he can mash a fastball no doubt. Mostly I was impressed with his reads in the OF, Tucson is a tough place to play especially RF and the Sox had him at all three spots if I recall correctly. His speed is explosive and he looks patient at the plate and I believe his walk stats bear that out. I think he's quite young as well, no pun intended, 21 at most I think. Definitely merits watching. Everett seemed to be taking him under his wing, they were talking all the time.
