The Score is saying Ben Davis will be sent down

Featured Replies

Not necissarily.  Davis is being optioned to AAA which means he can choose the demotion and his contract remains or opt out and become a free agent.  If he opts out then his contract is void and he doesn't get paid.

Yep, Davis has the option of becoming a free agent. But I just don't see him turning down a guaranteed $1 million. He must know he won't get that from any other team. If he doesn't care about money and just wants to play, he will become a free agent. But remember, he accepted a demotion to AAA when he was with the Mariners.

In any case, it would be nice if accepts the demotion and we can trade him or that he becomes a free agent. That $1 million would be nice at the trading deadline when we need to pick up a player that we need.
