If he opts out then his contract is void and he doesn't get paid. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep, Davis has the option of becoming a free agent. But I just don't see him turning down a guaranteed $1 million. He must know he won't get that from any other team. If he doesn't care about money and just wants to play, he will become a free agent. But remember, he accepted a demotion to AAA when he was with the Mariners. In any case, it would be nice if accepts the demotion and we can trade him or that he becomes a free agent. That $1 million would be nice at the trading deadline when we need to pick up a player that we need.
