Deng it!

Luol is out for the remainder of the season according to the ESPN Bottom Line. This sucks. And with the possibility of Curry out for the season too, the rest of the guys will have to continue the success they're having now.

I can't believe they're breaking up the Wu Deng Clan.

It's arguable, and even if he isn't...anyone worse than Iguodala sucks?

no, that's a fair point. But I think independantly of Iggy that Deng is not a very good player. There is some bias there since he was a guy I said they shouldn't pick-but I also haven't been impressed with his care of the basketball the most. I find other areas of his game to not be anything more than fair. Just my opinion.

Deng: turns 20 in 2 weeks, 27.3 mpg, 11.7 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.2 apg, .79 spg

Igoudala: 21 years old, 32.4 mpg, 8.8 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 3 apg, 1.7 spg

Deng is younger, averages more points per game, and more rebounds per minute. While Igoudala has a slight advantage in assists and steals, Deng is a better player in my mind. It's close and too early to tell at this point in time.

Either way what does he have to do with Deng being good or not?

Iguodala is a defensive freak on the perimeter with excellent assist potential in the long run. He's not a scoring option.

Deng is just way too raw right now. I like his quickness and his wingspan, but in the end, he may never do any one thing particularly well, as opposed to Iggy.

If it were me, I'd have taken Iguodala ahead of Deng without even blinking. There are times when I think that Paxson is a straight up numbnuts, but bringing in Skiles was brilliant.

While I would agree I would probably prefer Iggy I have no problems with Deng.

I will say that I was against the Gordon pick as I thought they should take Livingston. That one looks good for Pax right now.

Livingston :puke

He has raw talent, but he isn't close to NBA ready making him a huge risk. Also, I'm not sold on PGs jumping from HS to the NBA anyway. To my knowledge there is yet to be a successful case.

It looks like Telfair might actually work out, at least those are the early results. I still think Shaun will be great though

He might be, but I wouldn't be for taking that kind of risk at the 3rd pick.

I agreed with you though. I thought Gordon was a bad pick, looks like I was wrong.

I thought it was idiotic to build your backcourt with two tweener guards. I can't recall that ever working but it looks like it might here.

What times are those, if you don't mind me asking? (Not trying to rile you up or anything.)

Deng was a good pick and a solid contributor this season, and I like him over iguo. The knock on him seems to be that he has no upside, but who knows for sure...iguodala has A LOT to prove on the offensive side of the ball. I won't give him much praise until he can average double digits.

You have to remember though that Iggy's numbers are cramped by being on a team with a guy that takes up such a high percentage of a teams shots. Mosts rookies don't have Allen Iverson to play with. Iguadala is earning the right to take more shots.

Keep in mind that there is NO other scoring option in Philly, and Iverson is putting up great assists numbers. By now, he could have seized the opportunity and done something on offense to compliment Iverson. It just doesn't look like he can.

Guess no one realizes how good deng is defensively at this point.

So I'm a nobody? :crying I'm really pissed that Deng is done for the year. He has a bright future ahead of him though. He and Ben are going to be something special here.

CHICAGO -- Chicago Bulls rookie forward Luol Deng is expected to miss the rest of the season with a torn ligament in his right wrist, Bulls general manager John Paxson said Monday.

Deng, a starter who averages 11.7 points and 5.3 rebounds, likely will undergo surgery after an MRI Sunday night revealed a torn ligament in his wrist. The injury occurred during the Bulls' 94-86 win over Memphis on March 28.

He played in wins at Charlotte and against Cleveland, but sat out Saturday's game against the Hornets because of the injury. The Bulls' last regular-season game is April 20.

"That's a huge blow to us," Paxson said. "We were so lucky early on with no injuries and now we have a bunch."

Center Eddy Curry, who missed the last two games because of tests for an irregular heartbeat, could be back playing by the end of the week after being released from the hospital Monday, Paxson said.

The problems Curry experienced before a March 30 game against Charlotte have dissipated, Bulls team physician Dr. Kathy Weber said.

Curry, who leads the team with 16.1 points per game, will be allowed to play if outpatient tests over the next two days are normal. Chicago coach Scott Skiles has said the 22-year-old Curry will be brought back slowly because of the expected loss of conditioning.

Guard Kirk Hinrich, who missed several games because of a sore left hamstring and played limited minutes Saturday, will make the upcoming road trip, Paxson said.

Despite the injuries, the Bulls go for their 10th straight win at Miami on Tuesday.

I'd say that he's been competent at the very least. He has what it takes to be an above average defensive small forward, but (and I know you know) Iggy is a rare breed.

Does this include the playoffs?

Surgery cannot be good. I am thinking they are shutting him down until next year. But nothing has been confirmed yet. I would rather have him sit out the rest of this year honestly so that he does not make it any worse if he tries to force it again.
