Sox @ Twinkies: 4/9/05 Game Thread

Featured Replies

Garland

4 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 48 pitches (32 strikes)

Getting ahead of most hitters, just as impressive as the first 4 games so far.

wtf just happened here???????

Was I the only one who thought that was a routine flyball off Stewart's bat?

side note -

TB 11, Oakland 1 - 7th inning @ TB

Zito - 3.1 IP, 11 R, 8 ER, 2 HRs

What type of odds can I get that Garland and Crede won't be on the Sox next year? I would say there's a 80 pct chance of neither of them being with the team next year, and I wouldn't be upset about that at all.

Same here. Good to see Jon settle down.

Folks, we knew the streak of great outings was going to end, and Jon is still having a pretty good outing, so long as he can give us another inning or two of shutout ball. Time for the offense to get us one more.

Jon isn't throwing many straight fastballs today. I thought he could have got Stewart on a four-seamer to the outside corner.

And, is it just me, or is this ump's strikezone awfully small today?

There's something wrong with that radar gun. No way are these 2 pitchers hitting 109-110.

Yes, this umpire has the smallest strike zone I've ever seen. It hasn't really hurt us yet.

Wow -- that pitch hasn't been a strike all day, yet now it's a strike against Konerko. I hate that -- inconsistent strike zones suck. Call it the same all day, I won't b****, but that can't be a strike for Radke, yet not for Garland.

11 in a row retired by Radke. I'm not exactly confident that we're going to pull this game out, especially with Rincon and Nathan lurking.

Dude. Chill the hell out. It's tied.

Nuke, when their pitcher is mowing down our offense, and Garland has been known for his meltdowns, you don't have to be a genius to realize that the Sox chances are not great in a tied game. The Twins have a tremendous bullpen, so if they get a run this inning or the next, we're in a lot of trouble.

We should intentionally walk Ford here. Cuddyer is a definite double play threat.

Wow, good pitch by Garland. Not sure what Crede was thinking, Lecroy was very close to the base when he went after him. Lets get a grounder Jon....and he does!
