April 9, 200521 yr Down 2 with two outs and an 0-2 count in the 9th, Jose hit a pinch hit three run homer to beat the D'Backs. Way to go Jose! Best of Luck in L.A.
April 9, 200521 yr QUOTE(CubsSuck1 @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 10:31 PM) I'm happy for him, Go forrmer Sox (some of them at least) all of them minus Maggs
April 9, 200521 yr i always liked Jose as a pinch hitter he is the kind of guy that likes to be the hero... its just the rest of the game i dont like of him
April 9, 200521 yr Jose was pretty awesome in his first season with us too. It won't last but I'm happy for the 'stache.
April 9, 200521 yr I'm happy for Jose, I felt bad for him after that error in his first game. I definitely wish him the best.
April 9, 200521 yr Just came fro the LA mssg board and They Love Him! Lol one post said Beltre who? lol They will have the same love/hate relationsip with jose that we have had over the last 5 years.
April 9, 200521 yr QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 11:50 PM) Just came fro the LA mssg board and They Love Him! Lol one post said Beltre who? My respect for LA fans just plummeted.
April 9, 200521 yr QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 12:02 AM) I'm glad they're loving him, but he is no Beltran. They'll figure that out soon. Yeah, right about the time that NL pitching figures out that Valentin can't hit a curveball to save his life.
April 9, 200521 yr QUOTE(kapkomet @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 12:18 AM) Ya, just saw the highlights. WTF are they throwing this guy fastballs for? I'll never understand baseball. just like shingo throwing 3 pitches belt high middle of the plate 2 days ago.
April 9, 200521 yr Valentin has had an OPS of over .900 in April 3 of the past 4 years(02 was the only year it was not...he started off horribly, with a .700 OPS in April), and his OPS in April of 2000 was .866. He almost always gets off to hot starts, cools way down in May, and gets hot as hell in June. This is nothing out of the ordinary, but any good props for Jose are fine by me. Go Jose!
April 9, 200521 yr I don't know if any of you have noticed this; but, his defense never was the same once Sugar Ray got traded to San Francisco. Durham made Jose a better fielder (and sometimes made UP for his blunders). Anyways, here's hoping that he blasts the Cubs this year when the teams meet. Hell, I'll even root for Carlos Lee when he faces the Flubbs.

Actually, Jose's defense seemed to improve when Robbie Alomar was playing beside him.
