Good to be off to the nice start.

Means nothing except we're happy.

And it is mighty nice to beat teams in our division.

If we can keep winning series, dat's what it takes, though a sweep of the twinks would be awesome.

I was looking at the standings, they're pretty weird....

Every AL team is 2-2 except the ChiSox are 3-1 and the Rangers are 1-3.

At least we're on pace to finish with a record of 121.5-40.5

lol I know, I had to point that out to every baseball fan. 12 of 14 A.L. teams entering today were 2-2.

On the contrary. It means plenty as we are beating the teams in our division. Not only that, but we are beating the teams that the "experts" say will finish above us in the standings. These games are big.

These games against the division rivals are the ones we didn't really have a great record in last season, especially against the Tiggies, who we really played a lot against. It's definitely way too early, but every game we can win against someone in our division (minus the Royals because they ain't going to be in it, even though we should be looking to win every game against them) is a good little bonus.

We are still in first place boys....despite the loss tonight

I have no problem with that loss yesterday. Really it was kind of encouraging in a way. We scored two runs off of a pitcher we would not have scored any runs off of last year, and it was all due to aggressive play, and hustle. It was a site for sore eyes.

I guess the only thing about yesterday that dissapointed me was the generous calls the Twins pitchers got and the Sox were ahead 2-0 but lost.

You have a point. But then again, we didn't play good baseball thoughout the game. Crede's stumble hurt, though that kind of things happen. Buehrle slipped on that turf as well, and kept him from getting a lead runner, even though he didn't score. PK not getting the runner home from third with only 1 out. AJ losing that pop up in his former home stadium seems a bit on the bizarre side and Politte dropping that pop up didn't help any. Then you have Politte not holding the runner on, and allowing him to waltz into 2b with a SB. All those little things add up, as we saw with Hunter's HR. We've been playing good, solid baseball but last night we didn't and we lost. We might have been able to take that game if we had executed better.

A very good post. This team has a small margin between winning and losing. They have to do almost everything right to win.

I think that is very true when the sox are playing a team that doesn't beat itself like the Twins. When the sox play teams that kick the ball around, and aren't fundamentally sound, then their margin for error increases and they can still win.

The Twins didn't play exceptionally well in that game either. A hanger by Buehrle and a dominant performance by Santana are what decided that game.
