I agree with Harold Reynolds...the security guard did his job, and I give him a big thumbs up...he sprinted his ass over there, way to go Mr. Security Guard.

 

I agree. He literally ran out and jumped into the stands before it escalated. Very rarely does a security guard look like he's doing his job...detroit-pacers, for example...

It's what I've always said about Red Sox and Cub fans, they think THEY are the story. They think somehow THEY are bigger than the game. The press has romanticized being a member of those fan bases so much, that the fans feel like they have to perform when the cameras are around.

The other day at Wrigley in that extra inning game against Milwaukee, there they were, praying and falling down on top of the dugout, hamming it up for the cameras. Puh-leez gimme a break, it's the 1st week of the season. Same thing tonight, Red Sox fans looking for camera time.

One hysterical thing from this.. Mike & Mike have a bit of Terry F saying "I don't know" 5 times in response to his thoughts on it and they keep replaying it over and over again..

I saw it a few times and my impression was the guy didn't intentionally hit Sheffield but Sheffield did get hit and since he was concentrating on the ball really couldn't be aware that it wasn't intentional. I think security did a good job and Sheffield was able to control his emotions enough where nothing bad really happened.

I always wondered if the person threw his own cell phone. There are so many reasons not to throw your cell phone at someone I can't even begin to list them.

Sheff should have clocked the assclown who, even if Sox fanboys and girls blindly give the punk the benefit of the doubt, was trying to turn Tek's triple into a double at best. Inexcusable. Ban him from Fenway for two years.
