May 4, 200520 yr For all of the complaining people have been doing about getting rid of Lee, Valentin, and Maggs, look at how they're doing. Jose is batting .185, Maggs has played like three games, and Lee is batting .228. The power isn't there for them, while the replacements, with the exception of Dye, are doing great. I think it's about time the disrespect those departures get is put to rest.
May 4, 200520 yr Obviously Maggs issue is health so it's not worth getting into but one thing to keep in mind is that theother two switched legaues. I know that didn't botehr Valentin much at the start so it is not applicable so much (congrats to him for finally getting a hit on the board tonight) but the league switch is definitely what is hurting Lee. He won't hit 228 all year though and he was back to his cub-killing ways tonight. I don't understand why people want to cash in on all of their "I told you so's" in April and early May.
May 4, 200520 yr If you need a general manager to get rid of two all stars and then sign a couple nobodys and then end up with a better team... leave it to kenny baby
May 4, 200520 yr i think the one the most people had problems with was podsednik, but that was my favorite from the beinning, except maybe for the signing of el duque. all in all, good moves
May 4, 200520 yr I was pro Gooch, Duke, against Pods/Viz, and more or less neutral on Herm and Dye. I was one who was really hoping to move Konerko instead of Lee and was hoping it would be for Luis Castillo which didn't materialize
May 4, 200520 yr I, for one, couldn't care less about those guys. Our team was made better by the loss of them. We are the best team in the league. Carlos, mags, valentin = Pods, Contreras, Duque, Gooch, Vicaino Good luck to carlos and jose Mags can screw himself. Edited May 4, 200520 yr by Soxnbears01

May 4, 200520 yr I am sure that the Coors-lite helped all of them out here. Valentin and Maggs are now playing in horrible hitter parks, so expect their #s to fall.
May 4, 200520 yr It seems pretty clear that KW had a lot more on his mind than on field performance when he decided who to keep. I would have dumped Konerko at (probably) his peak career value after last year and kept Lee. I'm guessing that the Sox think that Paulie is a real asset in the clubhouse and Lee is a me first guy.
May 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 4, 2005 -> 03:32 AM) I don't understand why people want to cash in on all of their "I told you so's" in April and early May. B/c some people don't look at it as cashing in, they believe they have a bottomless well of "Ha ha"s. (In best Nelson voice.) Y'know, b/c of the millions of threads b****ing about losing these guys that we've had recently...
