May 12, 200520 yr 16 innings pitched and still no runs given up. None! This guy is making our pen look real good, especially when Viz, Shigo and Marte have been shaky.
May 12, 200520 yr Ya, Politte worked hard this spring focusing on his secondary pitches and its really paid off. That and he's pitching in on lefties.
May 12, 200520 yr Yeah Politte and Hermason have been our bullpen stoppers.... Im convinced that Shingo has been figured out and Vizaino has done anything but impress me. Im still on Marte... he has pitched well but it always seem like close calls.

I really like Martay Partay but he causes heart attacks every time he goes out there. I wish he'd tighten up his act just a little more.
May 12, 200520 yr I still can't believe that we were able to sign him this offseason with all the teams scraping for closers now and us already having what appeared to be a solid closer in Shingo and valid possibilities in Marte and Politte
May 12, 200520 yr Dustin is getting the job done but is anyone else worried that many of his outs come on hard hit balls? Sooner or later, those grounders are going to get through the holes. I still think we need a dominant closer.
May 12, 200520 yr I don't think enough has been said on the job cliff Politte has done this season so far. I think its time for an extended role for him, at least give him the bulk of the 7th inning work for Viz, until Luis gets back into a groove.
May 12, 200520 yr Yeah i trust Politte with that 8 inning role now fully... One thing im not happy with is I think Ozzie is hurting Cotts. One hit or one walk and he is always taken out of the game, and than someone like Luiz Vizcaino totally struggles and is left in to mess up big time..... I think Ozzie needs to show more trust in Cotts and let him get himself out of an inning.
