When Leia tells Luke about her "mother," I'm quite sure she was referring to her "adoptive mother" since, at the time this was said, neither Luke, Leia, Vader..... nor the audience for that matter, knew that Luke or Leia were brother and sister and that Vader was their father.

I disagree, I think Leia knew she was adopted. Here is some dialoge from ROTJ.

                              LUKE

Leia... do you remember your mother? Your

            real mother?

                              LEIA

Just a little bit. She died when I was very

            young.

I didn't see episode 1 or 2--would it be worth seeing Sith anyway? I've seen the older moves.

Thanks guys!

I'd still think so. All you really would have to know up to this point is that Anakin and Padme (Natalie Portman) have started to see each other. It will still link up a lot for you for the old ones.

That's not true though... Luke knew at the time of the convervation (on the Endor moon after the Obi Wan spirit had told him on Degobah), and it was revealed to Leia shortly thereafter when tells Luke, "I know... somehow I've always known..."

I saw a pirated version over the weekend - fairly good quality considering. We are planning to go and see it at the theater next weekend though (it's too good to waste an opportunity to see on the big screen).

I wish I was really that cool!

Oh boy, I'm about to get flamed, but I hated it. Keep in mind I am not the Star Wars fanatic most of you guys are so that is probably why. I was just hoping for a good movie.

I've watched all the old ones on consecutive nights since seeing Ep 3. My friend got the original trilogy on DVD recently. It's kind of cool, we just got done watching Return of the Jedi. At the end, when everyone is celebrating. Luke sees the spirit of Obi Wan and Yoda. They added the young Darth in (Hayden whatever his name is).

Yeah, the special edition of the special edition I guess.

There comes a time when you eant to say, "George, they're fine already, just leave them alone!!"

I dislike that change from teh original. It was a 30+ years older Anakin that was redeemed at the end of Jedi, and I think that Anakin (minus the disfigurement dismemberment) should be the one we see in spirit.

Yeah what's the deal with replacing Jedi ghosts? I'm surprised he didn't replace Alec Guinness with Ewan McGregor too.

Anyone miss the original ending song of ROTJ? Or the original cantina scene where Han Solo shoots first?

Ok, I have a nerd question. Yoda was supposed to be several hundred years old right? Is this because of his race(whatever that is), or does it have something to do with the force?

Gawd yes on the Jedi Changes - both the last song and the replacement song by Sy Snoodles/Max Rebo song at Jabba's palace are perfect axample of where he made changes just because he could, and not because the improved the film in any way.

But, dang, I though Greedo always got off a shot in te cantina even in the original New Hope... I gotta watch that again.

Yes, it is because of his race. I guess his unidentified people live very long.

As an aside, Chewbacca is 200 years old. Some races in Star Wars live a long time!

Donkey: Greedo shoots first is one of the most despised changes to the original Star Wars.

Talking about changes... I viewed ANH right after Revenge of the Sith and carefully paid attention to what Obi-Wan and Vader said when they faced each other again. That scene is very meaningful and all, but what would you say if Lucas were to re-do it? A little more dialogue wouldn’t hurt, would it?

A good example of making a re-do of that scene is this line... “When I left you I was just a learner..."

it should be more like “When you left me...”

I thought that as well, but please don't encourage Georgie to do any more revisions. Not that anybody could stop him.

This page discusses the Han Solo/Greedo shooting change. http://www.fecundity.com/pmagnus/greedo.html

George Lucas has to be the most stubborn filmaker on the planet. When I was kid, the "Yeah, I'll bet you have" followed by Solo shooting Greedo was one of my favorite scenes of ANH. It's sad to think that most younger fans will never see it that way.

Yep, just rewatched both versions. They screwed it up big time.

I tend to forget how much they changed with the Special Editions because even though I own them it's always the original versions I'll put in to watch or play for my kids. I had forgotten how big a change that was.

Now the two changes in Hope I do like is adding back the Han footage in the hanger bay with the new CG Jabba (and the "you're a wonderful human being" line from Han becomes great sarcasm) and the footage with Luke and Biggs on Tatooine. Running into Bigs later on Yavin never made much sense without seeing that establishing footage first.

Thank f***ing buddha...

Hayden Christensen is set to quit acting to become an architect. The Star Wars actor says he plans to swap the big screen for building design - because the movie industry doesn't excite him anymore.

He told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Maybe the new Star Wars will be my last movie. "I don't find Hollywood interesting, so I'm thinking about studying architecture instead."

The heartthrob actor, who plays Anakin Skywalker in the hit movie series, claims that he's had enough of making movies because the industry demands too much from its stars.

The 24-year-old actor, who has been romantically linked with his Star Wars co-star Natalie Portman, also slammed other young actors who are prepared to sell themselves to Hollywood in order to make their career successful.

He added: "A film is a product and as an actor you can only sell it if you sell yourself. "You don't get to sit at the table before you're ready to give away your integrity. Maybe it works for Orlando Bloom. It doesn't for me."
