Jerry Reinsdorf is the best owner

In Chicago ever. He has 2 winning teams and gives alot back to the city of chicago...

He has my respect

Wasn't there a trib article about this not to far back?

Well.. he definitely does give a lot back to the community. I say it's a safe bet that he's the most generous owner.. even ahead of Mark Cuban.

Your right out of the owners we have in Chicago..

Cubs- Only care about the bottom line

Bears- See Cubs

Hawks- Taught the bears and the Cubs how to do bussiness

It really depends on how you measure ownership of a major league team. If it's charity, it's the Sox ownership, hands down.

If it's putting winners on the field, court or rink, Reinsdorf and the Trib are the closest you are going to come. Sox have four division titles (including 1994), Cubs have 2 and one wild card. But, then again, the Halas family has owned the Bears since their inception and they've won a few titles. So, how do you measure?

Did you forget about the Bulls...? :huh

Da Bulls automatically put JR in front. Plus him giving back to the community. Sox/Bulls Training facility. The ballparks he's made(Mt Greenwood is one) and renovating basketball courts around the city. JR is definately the best.

Trib - Believe in "Charity starts and ends in la casa"

Bears - "What? You're supposed to spend money to win? Naaaaah"

No, I just left them out because he DID bring 6 championships, but he also had the laughingstock of the league for 5-6 years. So, it evened out.

I don't think he was a laughing stock with the Bulls for more than 3 or 4 years(depends on when he acquired them). Then they got Jordan in 84 and they've made the playoffs for 14 straight years. 6 bad years isn't enough to even that out. And they made the playoffs again this year.

You're right, but they were 6 REALLY BAD YEARS!!! And don't forget, 16 teams make it into the playoffs, not 8 like in baseball.

I'm not sure what the criteria is, but I'm surprised no one mentioned Bill Veeck. Also, as far as baseball minds go, Charlie Comiskey is somewhat the equivalent of Halas in football, being one of the founders of the AL.

:puke

he had one team that won championships because of michael jordan. and another team he's owned for over 20 years that hasn't won jack s***.

No. Jordan made the bulls a laughing stock.

THIS THREAD SUCKS

There once was a man named Bill Veeck.
