May 27, 200520 yr I thought Jack McDowell did a very good job. He was engaging, had funny stories and had a lot of insight on the way pitchers think. Much better than Vetura or the Pope. IMO
May 27, 200520 yr No doubt about it. He was much more assertive and relaxed in the booth. He gave me the same nothing scares him feeling, that Black Jack had out on the mound. He was excellent.

May 27, 200520 yr Author Who's doing the games in Texas this weekend? It'd be great if McDowell could continue. Also, would Brooks be the guy to email concerning DJ's partners when Hawk is not there? I want to offer my kudos for Blackjack's day in the booth.

He was insightful, questioned bad decisions(like McPhersons pitch), talked about his past, and made me laugh. His line "I dont know much about planes, but the wing is on fire." had me laughing. Too bad we couldnt switch out DJ for blackjack some more.

May 27, 200520 yr Yes, BlackJack was very good. Every time Donn Pall spoke I wanted to stick a fork in my eye. That isn't in green for a reason. I especially liked when McDowell got on Jose for throwing that pitch to McPherson. Nice job BlackJack!!!!
