AL Central Props

Featured Replies

Has anyone noticed that 4 of the 5 teams in the AL central are in the top 5 ERA's in the AL? That is pretty impressive for a division that is supposed to be the weakest of the 3 divisions. As I saw them last night, they were listed

Minnesota Twins

Chicago White Sox

Cleveland Indians

(insert team)

Detroit Tigers

If anyone knows the team I am missing, fill me in, I was half paying attention when that stat was flashed on the screen

The "insert team" is the Angels.

That shows me how awesome their bullpen is, their starters are good, but not great.

Actually besides Scott Shields, Francisco Rodriguez and Brendon Donnelly, the Angels bullpen is pretty thin. But those 3 guys make up for it.

But were the worst division in baseball

If somehow Shingo and Viz lower their respective ERA's down, we should be at the top.

I was just thinking about this. With the team ERA being second in the ML, when Kevin Walker was on the team and then we sent him down to AAA, would his ERA for the time he played with us stay here or does it go away like he was never here.

politte just seems hot right now. last night hermanson looked somewhat shaky in comparison to past closings where you knew it was over before he threw a pitch. keep throwing politte in, i say.

The only reason us four are in there is because we've each had a healthy dose of the Royals.

;)

Yeah that would help your team ERA lower, except if your the Royals, then in that case help your team ERA higher.

He pitched for the Sox so his ERA is included.

I think this trend has something to do with the fact that the AL Central doesn't score runs. Or is it because the pitching staffs are so darned good? I'd guess more the former because the AL Central doesn't have any power line-ups. Tigers? Maybe. Cleveland? Not this year. There is no Boston or Baltimore in the AL Cenral and I think that can be attributed a lot to Cleveland having such a great team ERA as well as even the Twins. I believe the Sox are the most balanced pitching staff of the three and the Indians and Twins anchor more on their bullpens, but as I said before, the AL Central is not a hitting division this year.

Wish you were managing tonight in the bottom of the 9th
