IIRC when Michael Johnson obliterated the 200m record in 1996, it was something like 30 mph, but I am not positive.

100 m = 0.0621 miles, so if he was able to keep the pace up for an entire mile (unrealistic), that would be a mile in 157.33 seconds = almost a 2.5 minute mile (again, unrealistic). MPH-wise, that is 22.88 MPH.

Remember when Donovan Bailey owned Michael Johnson? :canada :P

I'm curious.

100m = 0.06214 mi

His rates:

9.77 sec = 0.06214 mi

1 min = 0.3816 mi

1 hour = 22.896 mi

About 23 mph. The avg speed of the 2004 Tour de France was about 25 mph.

Hey, who's double checking my math?! :D

I understand, so for those 100 meters, he's moving at a speed of 23 MPH.
