Well i was flipping through my Tivo and i found the Illini Arizona game and i watched it. I got chills just watching Williams 3 and Heads steal to bring the lead to 6(Greatest play ever seeing him breathing so hard running down the lane for the layup) When i realized i am still not over the loss to UNC. i guess i jsut cant get over it. This is one of the only things i cant get over, another was 4th and 26 and dont get me started with that. Is anyone still pondering on that game? because i still am and i hope i will get over it this Illini football season and if not maybe Basketball season then again i am still not over 4th and 26 and that was 2 years ago.

it'll be a looooong time before i'm over that game.

this was my freshmen year at the U of I. I went to every home game and one roadtrip (was part of the orange krush). What a magical ride it was. That was teh closest any of my teams ever got to a championship.

With a minut eleft in the UNC game, we had about 3 outside shots to tie the game. Every one of them looked good and found a way out.

Then the steal that gave them the win.

I watched the game in assembly hall on the jumbotron, never forget the feeling afterward.

It was by far the most success that any of my teams have ever had. I still ponder some questions everyday about the game. What if Luther hits one of those wide open shots in the final minute? What if Sean May wasn't given 8 fouls? What if Augie knew what he was doing?

I remember turing off the Illini Arizona game when Zona was 15 up with 3 minutes to go. Then i turned it back on and the Illini were down by 2. That was one exciting game to watch.

Or not watch you in your case :bang

Like Steve, i was in Krush this year... have been all 3 years down at school. Been on multiple road trips, tournament games, etc, in addition to all home games. It's the most attached to a team i've ever been. So yeah, it still hurts.

I'll find myself thinking about the game and my emotions when i have a quiet moment just watching TV or something. It's brutal. I was at the game, and i'll never forget the feeling as time expired. I can remember every minute detail of that experience. I'll never, ever, truly be over that game. I just try not to think about it...or try to think about all the positives of the season - like just think back to the Arizona game, and how it was the greatest game i've ever witnessed.

I've never had a team come that close and then not get it done. As you guys know I'm not an Illini fan but that was a special team and season. The only thing from my perspective I can compare that to is the Sox in the 2000 playoffs and that was only the ALDS but I know that hurt big time for me.

I still get the chills when I think about that game. I was at the espn zone in downtown Chicago with a friend watching the game. I was so f***in depressed most of the game. I was ready to head out with about 6 minutes to go. Then I decided that I would just hang around and watch till the end. I don't think i've ever been as emotional and LOUD as I was the last 4 minutes and overtime. I just kept saying to myself "How the hell did we comeback?" It sucks we couldn't finish the job against NC. But the Arizona game will be with me forever.
