I'm sure there's some physics involved, but Shingo's offspeed junk is true garbage when it's cool outside. I'm starting to think it's more than coincidence that this is 2 seasons in a row where he doesn't start pitching well until the thermometer starts spreading the mercury further.

No it was outside. Your point is well taken but Shingo has been getting his slow junk over lately, today he just was locating his fastball so beautifully I guess him and Widge felt like there was no need to throw anything else with a 4 run lead.
