Sox Pride...

Featured Replies

Is it me or does the city seem to be brimming with sox pride. Every morning when I am takin the bus from union to work I try to count Sox hats vs. Cubs hats and if not even the sox usually come out on top.....Also today as I was takin it I noticed a building on Clark and Washington has the US flag flying on one side of the doors and low and behold a SOX flag on the other side....not too sure what the building is I didnt get to see the sign, but I know its right accross the street from the Daley Center and the Picasso......So thats building #2 with a sox flag flying high.....the other was that one in Southersiders avatar....... :gosox1: :fthecubs :santabye

it's called a bandwagon.

Bulls***, it's called don't judge the number of Sox fans just by the number of butts in the seats.

I've been seeing ALOT of brand new sox hats being worn on the rock island...

I disagree because my building has never flown the Cubs flag even during the NLCS.

Oh I am not doubting that there are plenty on bandwagoners this year, but my main point was the whole building flying sox flags is awesome......and ya know what if bandwagoners bring in some more money so be it

Yeah, I've noticed a spike in Sox hats downtown the last few times I've been there.

I suppose it's semantics whether it's bandwagon or not, but when teams do better those fans that always cheer for the team and follow them are just going to be more likely to wear that hat or fly that flag. When you're team isn't do as well you're not going to be as excited to talk about or promote your love of the Sox all the time.

I'm not sure it makes those that didn't have their flags out every day bandwagoners, it just means we're doing well and people are excited and it's showing. I don't think it's that these people weren't fans, but now they are. It's that they were always fans but didn't have as much to be excited about, but now they do.

By the way, I need a good avatar. Any suggestions?

Edit: I found this one. Not sure if it's a keeper yet, but it'll work for now.

Down with the Cubs!

I just got back form the taste and saw a ton of Sox hats. Also, the US Cell booth (and I know they are the Sox sponser) was reading Sox trivia questions the whole time. It was nice to hear.
