July 7, 200520 yr I wouldn't be surprised if JR did something similar to the Jordan contract. JR overpaid Jordan in his last year as a show of respect. As cheap as JR is, he's fiercely loyal to his guys. Frank is definitely one of his guys. Don't forget, The Sox are due to make a big profit this year. JR does have a history of awarding profit with an increase in salary. 10 years ago, the park was packed and we were winning. We were amongst the leaders in payroll.
July 7, 200520 yr About a week ago, some people were thinking that Frank should be taken out of the 3 spot with the way he was scuffing. Well the past few games will have shown the advantages of having him in the #3 spot, espeically with Scotty and Gooch in front of him in the lineup. His OBP is now .364 and he has an OPS of 1.100.
