leo daigle?

Featured Replies

Not that I'm complaining, but does anyone know why Leo is back at Winston-Salem? Thanks in advance!

Probably cuz Harris and Gload are in AAA

And 'cause he had a .250-something OBP in about 80 ABs in July at Charlotte...

He's kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place since Rogo is gonna get all the AB's in Bham and ranks higher on the prospect todem poll.

With Gload in Charlotte, Rogo doesn't really have a spot to go right now (Sox are taking things slow with him). Daigle is basically an organizational guy, although I'm sure he's opened some eyes this year.

[/quote daigle was hitting the cover off the ball in winstoN Salem before going to Charlotte. In Charlotte he didn't do much but he did get a chance to see if he could take those numbers to a higher playing field. He couldn't . I commend the minor league system managers for trying hard to recognize talent and promoting talented individuals quickly. This time he wasn't ready.

Yeah, Maybe in a couple years when he's older and more seasoned, like 29, he'll be able to hit AAA pitching.

You know, as soon as I posted that, I realized about the other roster changes. Must have been the blond coming back out.(trying to push out the gray!) BY the way, since coming back, Leo is still trying to get back to form. When he hits the ball, it's been right to an outfielder usually.

Leo is a great athlete and I really enjoy watching him play. Wherever he is I'm sure he'll do great! He's always out there giving 110%!

I just watched Leo play his first 3 games back at WS. It took him 3 games to get his first hit but that HR went A LONG ways.

Remember that Leo came to the Sox last year from the Tiger's AAA team. They placed him a low A Kanny but Leo never complained. This year he was having a monster seasom at WS when he was called up to Charlotte. There he found (just as Mike Spidale did) that those guys play with zero team concept. Both those two are happy to be playing for a team where everyone works together for the good of the team to win.

Leo is a tremendous offensive player and an OK 1st baseman. He has played some 3rd, but that has beeen brutal to watch. As someone else pointed out, DH/1st is a tough place in this organization with Konerko, Gload, and Rogo. Still, Leo (who turns 26 next month) is an absolute class act.

I'm off the Daigle wagon now. Seems like he's destined to be the greatest Class High A hitter of all-time.
