Last night on Post Game Live, they had a poll asking what Yanks player would you want on the Sox. I believe about 11 percent said Gary Sheffield. I could be wrong, but I think Sheffield and his giant ego would have NO place on the Sox. IMO if Sheffield was on the Sox at this particular time, things wouldn't be going so well. He may be a great player, but imagine how the team chemistry would be if he was there. Chemistry is one the main reasons the Sox have played so well this year. Imagine what Sheffield would do to that.........

I agree. Sheffield is a helluva player but he is too selfish and snobby for the Sox. But I am sure Ozzie could handle him...

Sheffield's .304/23/86/927OPS would be so f***ing awesome in the middle of the Sox offense. Atlanta had no problem with Sheffield and his massive ego and I don't think it would be a team killer on the Sox. Of course he'd probably never come here but if he were willing, I'd take him in a second.

I'd take Tom Gordon or Matsui.

He was defending the Sox players. I don't agree with those statements, but I think every announcer does that for his team.

A lot of people said the same stuff about Everett. Some teams are better fits than others, you don't know what would happen. Jurassic wasn't exactly a "good guy" anywhere else but seems to be a bit of a leader here.

Ozzie would have exploded if Shef was on the team and he came out to the press with his "They arent leaders. Im the leader" speech. That was totally unnecassary.

 

And everytime Shef says something s***ty, he blames the press for misconstrueing his statements. he even said that his personal assistant sat in with him during the interview to make sure it didnt take on a negative light. I wonder what the Assistants take on the interview is?

I thought I heard the exact opposite...I heard him say talent wise Sheffiled had the edge, but he wouldn't want someone with an ego or attitude like Sheffield.

 

and the Jeter is the face of th team blah blah blah.

 

I happen to agree with him....I'd rather have a good player with a good attitude, than a great player with a bad one.
