September 16, 200520 yr i still believe we are going to the postseason, the end to this year has been pretty damn anticlimactic. and now i feel left out cause the cards clinched today and we still have whatever out magic number is to complete first. what is it anyways...please tell me its under 10. that said, i am confidant we can turn it around. maybe we'll break out of this slump with huge offensive numbers right before the playoffs while we play cleveland. or am i too hopeful...

And who have The Cardinals had to fight off to win? And no, it's still 13
September 16, 200520 yr Unlike the Sox, the Cardinals realize you can't stop playing after 4 1/2 months. Congrats to the Cards by the way.
September 16, 200520 yr Congratulations to the Cardinals. My favorite National League team, no question. Always been a Bird fan, back to the days of Bob Gibson and Lou Brock. This is their fourth NL Central title ( one shared with Houston ) in the past 6 years. Good luck in the playoffs, REDBIRDS!!!!
September 16, 200520 yr Unless I am mistaken, the Cards did not clinch yet?? Their magic number is 1.
September 16, 200520 yr They must have a great manager, I wonder why we never seem to get managers like that. Maybe I should send an email to Hawk . . .
September 16, 200520 yr QUOTE(downstairs @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 08:53 AM) Unless I am mistaken, the Cards did not clinch yet?? Their magic number is 1. You're mistaken. I thought the same thing, but checked this morning. http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/standings
September 16, 200520 yr At least there's guaranteed to be 1 baseball team popping open Champagne in Chicago...since the Cards are playing on the north side.
