One, two, even three guys having an off series is understandable. But five? Including the 1,2,3 hitters???

 

It amazes me that the Sox won even one game these last three nights.

Don't forget that our so-called aces all allowed at least 4 runs, and our bullpen was very mediocre during the series.

I hear you, but the Sox were in every game until the 8th tonight when our brain dead caribbean manager allowed JG to pitch to the hottest hitter in the lineup. Which says to me that the pitching bent but did not break. Face it Fathom, the tribe is red hot at the plate and you're not going to shut them down. You have to find a way to score some runs and stay up with them. I actually thought our pitching was fair to good, considering the opponent. How I wish the Count could've pitched one game...

Indians are just a phenomenal team right now, as they're clicking on all cylinders. Right now, the Sox have a very inconsistent offense, inconsistent starting pitching, shaky relief pitching, terrible base running, poor execution, and a consistently poor manager. SO YOU'RE SAYING THERE'S A CHANCE??

I will admit, right now, I did not see the game. But from what I can tell, Garland was pretty much done after 7. Sending him out in the 8th is just not the right decision.

It would've been nice to hold the lead to 2-0 and see if the sox couldn't muster another rally. It's just sad that Garland pitched so damn good only to be strung out like that and made to pay the price by Travis "call me Bonds" Hafner. If the Sox do make the playoffs, at least they won't see the tribe in the first round!!

Face it. Cleveland right now is alot better team than the Sox are. Lets hope KC gets some light under their asses for some reason, and takes 1 this weekend, else we have a monumental task...

The only way this team is going to change their fortunes is if Pods, Iguchi and Carl pull out of it. I don't give a damn what anyone says, the pitching is not the problem. And you're right - Cleveland is playing out of their minds. But the Sox still have a LEAD!!!!!!!

Pods gagged big time, IMO. Three strikeouts last night? We had the lead in game one and blew it late. Bullpen has to be held accountable for that.

Cleveland's #9 hitter has the same amount of home runs and is only hitting .006 lower than the Sox #3 hitter. That's pathetic. Hey Hawk, where would he play?

Cleveland's defense didn't wow me this series, especially last night when Belliard on a popup to second basically made Blake run almost to the infield dirt to catch while he stood and pointed to it.

The difference is that you can play over mistakes if you are raking the ball, and pitching well. Which they did. When we make a mistake it can cost us the game.

I agree Cleveland's defense is noticeably sub-par. I was disappointed in our defense because that is something the Sox have prided themselves of this year. It seems to desert us at the most inopportune times.

And Ozzie continues to bat Carl 3rd for some reason. Mind-boggling. The worst #3 hitter out of all the playoff contenders.

And he's in a massive slump also. Even when he's hitting decent, he was still a below average 3 hitter.

The guy had a very good April. That's all he's really done IMO. Doesn't mean he should still be batting 3rd in September.
