I still pick Illini Defense :puke

Illini. Bears defense was left out there to dry because their offense simply sucked.

this smiley should describe what i want to say, :huh

It really should be 12-0 Bears Offense. I, for one, like probably many others, probably assumed Bears D vs Illini D, and automatically thought Illini D with 61 pts against.

Did Illinois fans really have expectations for the team this season?

Where is "They are playing football now"? as an option?

They're are a lot of irrational Illini fans, so of course they did...

This year means pretty much nothing. Zook has almost none of his own players...he is left with a lot of slow, talentless, Turner recruits. Give him time to get his guys in there...and then you can judge Zook and his lack of defense.

Notice how Notre Dame is now winning with Willingham's recruits...he was never given a chance with his own players, which I think is a bunch of baloney.

Just wait until ND plays with Weis's recruits.

Ill is not going to be a football hot bed. IOWA out recruits IL in its home state and its largest city. I dont see Zook making a run at the big ten title any time soon.

I think they can become competitive again 7-4, 8-3...they are and never will be a premier football power. But it is inexcusible to be this bad when you have the city of Chicago in your backyard.

Ferentz recruits heavily in chicago, and is getting alot of the biggest recruits. I think its going to be a uphill battle for IL.

More expectations than 60 plus points and 705 yards against a NEW facility record against ILLINI :banghead

Madison is also geographically closer to Chicago than Illinois.

Illinois is in a real rough spot for football. Unless they can put together some bowl seasons with lower end talent, they are always going to be a middle of the road school. But if Zook can set up a system and get the team above .500 I think he can start to get some legitimate recruits.

Otherwise Illinois is just carved up between the top Big 10 football programs. Michigan, OSU, also take from the area.
