Yep. I told both my jobs that I have to be at the other. Ain't I a stinka?

I remember in 2000 down at SIU, I skipped 3 classes for Game 1 but had to go to my night class as the game went to the 9th. I set my VCR and went. I sat there for five minutes and couldn't. So I left and by the time I got back it was over and rewound the tape to watch Martines and Olerud go back to back.

AFter the sweep, I went to the liquor store and drank a bottle of Martini & Rossi.

I was at Bubs in Champaign during that great game (sarcasm). That was before it became Station

I haven't been in the office but for 4 hours yesterday and I'm leaving at 11 again today. Thankfully Jim's mom is recovering enough for us to head to the game. Lifelong Cub fan that she is, is sporting a Sox "Brains, bats, and balls" shirt right now. :cheers

That's good.

Honestly, I'm quite ashamed at all of you that are choosing to put baseball before your jobs. :headshake :headshake

I am busy slaving away at my desk like a model employee.

But, I do know that I will take ill at precisely 2:30 pm local time and I will have to leave work so as not to get anybody sick. :)

I'll start to feel quite a bit better on the drive home and will decide to swing by and pick up the kids from school. :)

I'll suggest that we all go have an early dinner down at the pub with the big plasma TV and the good beer selection. :)

And I'll be downright surprised when I look in the trunk of the car and find that I mysteriously have a bag packed with full Sox regalia that we can all change into. :)

It's wierd, really. Almost like I somehow knew I was going to have to leave work early. . .
