Whitewashed in '05
So far the sox have done a great job and they could go a lot further playing like they are now. But as of now, how do you think this affects PK and the rest of the FA market towards the sox?
greg775
We can't afford to let another slugger go. Our payroll is in the 70s, We can afford him. We can't lose Maggs, Lee, Hurt and Konerko in the span of a couple seasons. GO SOX!
3RDBASE
I hope they bring him abck...he has proven his leadership after it was questioned and if frank is still hurt we need him to be the leader! i hated to hear all this talk from the Bosox about how they are going after him ...even including him in their lineup already.....BOOO! i hope he is Classier than Mags, but gets whta he deserves...player like him and Frank are the franchise! He has a few good years left in him, I would tear this TEAM apart only add to some areas!
Rowand44
Making it this far already is going to bring in a s*** load of money so hopefully that alone will allow us to keep paul.

No we can't afford to lose all of them but I just hope that they don't try to hit the jackpot with someone else to replace him. Kind of like Dye with Maggs and not that theres anything wrong with that move but we need to retain Kong.
hammerhead johnson
12 million dollars per? LOL, I don't think so. I don't care if he hits three home runs in game 7 of the World Series. That much money per season is out of the question IMO.
IlliniKrush
If the money is there, which at this point it easily could be, i don't care if he's making 12 mil. Plus, the FA market seems to be pretty dry this year at 1b. You have to keep him, you just have to. 40 hr 100 rbi guys don't grow on trees. I'd love to see your reaction if he did indeed hit 3 hr in game 7.
WilliamTell
Gotta keep him. He's a clubhouse leader and our best slugger.

That would be a beautiful thing, but this is just one particular season, you know what I'm saying? Ain't we gonna need a s***load of cash to invest in pitching? I dunno, maybe I'm just being too conservative, but 12 freaking million per? If that is what this guy will demand, he can take a hike. If he had a good rest of the playoffs he very well may make that much money. Whatevr the case im sure he is going to leave on a positive note rather than Maggz and Clee. So if he does leave it will be nice to have a guy that leaves but still likes the franchise and fans like him.

I am not sure who is a FA from out pitching staff this year, I know all of our SP's are locked up for at least one more year. With that said, can't they just put El Duque in a box and put him away until playoff time next season? Crede and Garland are arb. eligible and I think AJP can be a free agent. Politte may be a FA too.

The Ginger Kid
Paulie says he doesn't want to break the bank. But let's see what he says in December when the Red Sox, Dodgers and Yankees are throwing buckets of cash at him.
YASNY
They have to resign Konerko. Period.
