Do I have to understand the reason to use this arguement?

 

Let's put this whole f***ing thing into context then.  We have NO f***ING CLUE what goes on in that clubhouse.  We are all on the outside looking in.  Sorry, fellas.  I know some of you think you could be skipper, but, you're not.

 

Do I know the reason?  No.  BUT, do I see time and time again he goes to Marte over Cotts?  Yes.  Ozzie knows a LOT more baseball than I.  And, I'm just going to take a guess here, a LOT more baseball than you.  He goes to him time and time again for a reason.  He has ALL the information you are PRIVY to and MORE and he STILL goes to the worse statistical pticher of the two.  Why?

 

Manager's also have their favorites, he must like Marte more than Cotts, or he sees potential in him, but needs to get him on the field to show it. He knows what Cotts can do, and if needed he will use him. Either way I just hope Marte redeems himself the next chance he gets.

So you are now using some sort of clubhouse reason we can't see, as opposed to using a statistical basis.

Here is an interesting one, Marte vs LAA and NYY this year:

 

LAA .224 AVG, .250 OBP, 8 K, 2 BB, 0 HR in 49 AB

 

NYY .326 AVG, .436 OBP, 6 K, 9 BB, 1 HR in 46 AB

 

 

Looks like 2 different pitchers.

I think that ozzie wont pitch damaso at home cause he gets booed says it all.

no that's Marte. Marte's ERA would be 6 if all our other relievers didn't bail him out. Case in point Friday.

I could really care less about the end of the bullpen knowing Viz will likely not even pitch.

no it's not. The reason his ERA is in the 3's is because other pitchers bail him out. I recall this one time in Cleveland at the beginning of the season Marte was put in and walked 2 batters. Shingo was brought in and bailed him out by striking out Aaron Boone. That happened almost everytime he pitched. This was the one that came to me first though. Also those couple times in Cleveland at the end of the season.

You guys want Marte as the second lefty man because he is lefthanded. I have shown you that there are 4 RHP better than Marte at getting lefties out.

i agree with you man. Plus Viz has been great in the 2nd half and is starting to cut down on those walks.
