October 19, 200520 yr QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 11:12 AM) Whats with the errors for Valido? Isnt he apposed to be a stud at ss? They were all in the same game at the end of last week, IIRC... Look at the # of errors he had during the regular season... He had just 12 errors in 119 games at SS. Considering the field conditions in A ball and his range, that's better than 90% of the SS's in MLB today. He's a major league gold glove caliber SS. One bad game certainly doesn't change that.

October 20, 200520 yr I don't mean to come off in such a jackass-like tone, but for a groundball pitcher, Tracey's 1.22 GB/FB ratio isn't very good...

October 25, 200520 yr QUOTE(OilCan @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 06:16 PM) Randar, isn't the field in AZ worse than most of the minor league fields? I thought I remember seeing something about that on the other WS board. Winston-Salem has a pretty decent infield for their level, but it's still not all that great. I saw Josh Fields almost eat one in the face due to a slight at the edge of the grass, but I digress. The fields they use int he Arizona league are akin to the fields in Low-A. Again, SS's who get through a full season at one of those levels with fewer that 20 errors either can't get to anything or they are very very good.
October 26, 200520 yr Young at .292 now. Went 2-2 today, with 2 walks, 1 HBP, his first homer and he also threw out a runner at 3B.

Awesome to hear... he certainly started out slow. VERY good sign to see Valido playing pretty well and leading off... Pretty good jump from High-A to the AFL this year, a lot of AA and AAA experienced pitchers in the league.

October 31, 200520 yr Thanks for the updated stats. Is anyone pitching good out there because those ERAs are still high.
October 31, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) Thanks for the updated stats. Is anyone pitching good out there because those ERAs are still high. Tracey is pitching much better after 2 outings he had an ERA over 20.00 but has been lowering it ever since.

November 2, 200520 yr Haha. You also got to factor that my guess is Tracey is focusing on a specific pitch (maybe a cutter or his changeup). Reynoso it could be the same. Often times in the AFL a prospect will basically solely throw one or two pitches they are trying to develop and because of that they get hit up.
