October 23, 200520 yr Since I live in South Florida, Fox cut right to Hurricane coverage after the game ended. No postgame (which is ridiculous since I can see hurricane news on 50 other channels). So I had to wait for Sportscenter, which just started about 3 mins ago. As the opening music faded out, the host said, "Game 1 of the World Series is in the books. We'll have the highlights and postgame comments coming up later... but today IS a college football saturday..." And they proceeded to show highlights of GEORGIA! Are you freakin kidding me??? This shouldn't bother me after a game 1 victory, but ESPN is clueless.
October 23, 200520 yr I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say it's taking them a bit to compile hilights.
October 23, 200520 yr I just noticed the same thing. Anytime something big just ends their quick on their highlights. That was pretty poor.
October 23, 200520 yr You gotta give em time to get their s*** together, it ended like 20 minutes ago.
October 23, 200520 yr Author I'll drop the subject after this, since we should be talking about the win... but there is no excuse for leading with a Georgia game. The producers at ESPN should be compiling those highlights as the game goes along. This is 2005, and they have no excuse. It's the friggin World Series... OK, now back to baseball....
October 23, 200520 yr Because it was a big day for college football. I mean you have exciting endings in the Alabama-Vols game, Georgia-Arkansas game, and the Michigan game. My god everybody should just chill.
October 23, 200520 yr What's "College Football"? Is it some other sporting type of thing going on right now???
October 23, 200520 yr QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 11:05 PM) Because it was a big day for college football. I mean you have exciting endings in the Alabama-Vols game, Georgia-Arkansas game, and the Michigan game Illinois giving up half a hundred in the first half. My god everybody should just chill. Fixed.
October 23, 200520 yr QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 11:08 PM) Fixed. what the hell is your problem. It's like you have a freakin Vendetta against Michigan. Why can't you admit that they played well and that they might just be a good football team.
October 23, 200520 yr QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) what the hell is your problem. It's like you have a freakin Vendetta against Michigan. Why can't you admit that they played well and that they might just be a good football team. They got outplayed in every facet of the game today. Michigan sux. Iowa just sux harder.
October 23, 200520 yr QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) what the hell is your problem. It's like you have a freakin Vendetta against Michigan. Why can't you admit that they played well and that they might just be a good football team. Your incessant hard on for Michigan football is disturbing.
October 23, 200520 yr They couldn't start their coverage of the game until FOX coverage was done, which it wasn't.
October 23, 200520 yr QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 10:21 PM) They couldn't start their coverage of the game until FOX coverage was done, which it wasn't. That and I'm sure they had to get their stuff together up in left field so they could broadcast live.
October 23, 200520 yr Sportscenter the first time through was like 60% about the World Series game tonight. I sort of even got sick of it since I wanted some news on the college games.
October 23, 200520 yr QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) What's "College Football"? Is it some other sporting type of thing going on right now??? Probably not something you'd wanted to be asking me that's for sure.
October 23, 200520 yr Last Sunday night, when the Sox beat Ana. to make the series, Channel 5 did like 15 minutes of post game coverage. Then they came on and profusely apologized for starting 'Bears Extra' later than scheduled. Don't come back and cover us if we win the WS. :finger
October 23, 200520 yr ESPN cannot cut in on Fox's postgame coverage. ESPN talked about the WS for more than half the broadcast, its not much to be worried about guys.
October 23, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 10:13 AM) ESPN cannot cut in on Fox's postgame coverage. OK, my bad, I did not know this. I guess I was mostly bothered by the way they said "but this is a college football Saturday..." Now, for another topic, please tell me it's not going to rain tonight in Chicago. I don't want to take any chances on a Monday game when my power will probably go out from the hurricane.
