October 25, 200520 yr Back in the late '80s early '90s, no one compared with the water-cooler buzz Brandmeier did in Chicago. Of course he will sorely miss Buzz Kilman. But he is set to re-debut Monday, October 31.

I have seriously been dying for this day to come about since he left! Oh man!!! He just needs to steal Buzz from Dahl now! I'm sure if things work well for Johnny, BUzz will be along shortly!
October 25, 200520 yr Actually didn't Johnny steal Buzz the first time from Dahl? I thought Buzz's first gig in Chicago was with Dahl. I am sooooooo frickin' homesick. You would not believe what makes the radio here. I get so accustomed to it that it isn't until I return to Chicago I realize how bad it is.
October 25, 200520 yr Yeah, I wouldn't be suprised to see Buzz wind up with him eventually. Dahl doesn't keep his news people forever, like Laura Wittack (sp?) or Dave McBride. Dahl could have been greasing the skids for Buzz's depature when he was complaining Buzz went to Europe for a week after Dahl cancelled his trip so he can be in town during the Sox run. Now if Buzz leaves Dahl can point to that and say it was his choice to ditch Buzz.
October 25, 200520 yr Brandmeier got realllllll trashy at the end. Like, almost Stern-trashy. Hopefully, he'll stay away from that this time around. I'd still take Kevin Matthews over Johnny B.

November 6, 200520 yr Update: My wife heard Johnny B doing an "equipment test/rehearsal broadcast" on Saturday morning, so I'd say you can expect him on the air on The Loop on Monday. I always liked him, so I'm hoping he can still put on a decent broadcast. He'd be a very nice alternative to the awful Mancow or the soon-to-be-awful "Rover" on CKG.
November 6, 200520 yr Yeah, that annoying morning guy on The Loop right now, Bird or something like that (nice "radio voice" the guy has), said Monday more than likely. I guess they are just busting butt to get the stuff set-up properly. I'm guessing Johnny is still living in La-La land?
November 7, 200520 yr And there is was! Got in the car this morning, and there was Johnny again! He was a little rough going at first, but by 8:30 it was like no time had passed at all, aside from there being no Buzz. His interchanges with Bruce were the same as before, and everything was right again. When Bruce called Johnny "effeminate", that was classic Brandmeier. Somethings have turned right in the world again. It would be nice if The Loop would strart streaming though, as being way out here in the middle of nowhere known as Crystal Lake I can't get a good signal on my little crappy radio. I guess I need to buy a better radio. WELCOME BACK JOHNNY B.!!!
November 7, 200520 yr I heard the last hour or so while I was out buying my brand-new, super-sweet, reversible, leather-sleeved Sox jacket! (.... to the jacket, by the way...) [/self-postjack] Johnny sounded real good - he seemed comfortable, except when everyone welcomed him back - he said more than once, "Can today be the end of the welcome back thing? Tomorrow, I'll already be back, OK?" But he said it in an appreciative way, if you know what I mean. Nice to have JB back.
