Oz's image will never be tarnished in Chicago unless he gets arrested or something for some crime that he'll never commit. Oz led Chicago to a world series title, first in 80 plus years. He's like Ditka now. And yes, hang that No. 13 in the future; like you said he led the Sox to a world championship after a very good career as a player; he's IN.

Frank will be there as soon as next year, I imagine. Are you EVER positive? EVER? Ozzie just led this team to a World Series victory for the first time in 88 years. Not much could tarnish that.
October 31, 200520 yr Ditka is a good comp. Coach/manager that was larger than life. You only get hired to be fired in this business so I'm sure someday Ozzie will go like Da Coach. Fans helped run Ditka out of town, but they forgot all ill will about a year or so later and the same would happen with Ozzie if he were to fall out of favor

November 2, 200520 yr For sure it should get retired. He played here 13 season or something close to that. Had a decent career, and then managing this time to a World Series championship only solidifies it.
