December 7, 200520 yr http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article...e2005&fext=.jsp DALLAS -- The Pittsburgh Pirates unloaded their second left-handed starter in less than 24 hours Wednesday morning by sending veteran southpaw Mark Redman to the Kansas City Royals for right-hander Jonah Bayliss and a player to be named later. The Royals got the ace they wanted!
December 7, 200520 yr It's looking more and more like that Benson deal won't happen, since they don't want to give up both Affeldt AND MacDougal.
December 7, 200520 yr Looks like Redman's name will be off the market this year come trading deadline time.
December 7, 200520 yr If they can get Benson, too, they're a lot better than they were last year. Of course they won't compete for anything, but they'll be harder to beat with Redman and Benson.

Keep who you have and sign White to play the OF.
December 7, 200520 yr If they get Benson too they might not be the laughing stock of the league anymore although still bad. whats the rotation Benson, Redman, Greinkie, Bautista, ????
December 8, 200520 yr QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) Who cares they need to get some young good talent in there, trading for Benson is not a wise move.. Keep who you have and sign White to play the OF. I think it's pretty important for the White Sox. Every win will count next year, and having Benson or Redman pitching gives them a better chance of beating us. They still won't be good, but they might take a game or two more. And that's never good.

But we also have Jim Thome as our DH instead of Carl Everett...and Brandon McCarthy starting instead of Orlando Hernandez, and Bobby Jenks Closing instead of Dustin Hermanson (that cost us 1 game against KC)

Those guys will also be pitching against the Twins and Indians.
